What we access.
What we delete. What we never touch.

We connect to your Google account through their official authorization system, copy your photos to hardware you own, and permanently revoke our access the moment your order ships. This policy explains that process in plain language.

01 — Who We Are

A small service based in Utah, USA.

Unchained Home ("we," "us," or "our") is a sole proprietor data liberation service operating in Utah, United States. We help people export their photo libraries from Google Photos and deliver them on physical drives or pre-configured home servers.

Questions about this policy: hello@unchainedhome.com

02 — What We Access and Why

Only what's needed to complete your transfer.

When you place an order, you authorize our application to access your photo library through Google's official OAuth 2.0 authorization system. This is the same "Sign in with Google" mechanism used by millions of apps. You authorize directly through Google's own interface — we never see your password.

Google Photos

Access is permanently revoked and deleted the moment your order ships. We do not maintain ongoing access to your account. We do not retain authorization tokens after transfer completion. One transfer, one authorization, permanently ended.

03 — What We Do With Your Photos

Download. Verify. Ship. Delete.

Your photos are downloaded from Google to a secure, dedicated transfer machine, verified for completeness, and written to your drive or pre-loaded onto your home server. That's it.

04 — What We Never Do

Hard limits. No exceptions.

05 — Information You Provide

Name, email, shipping address. Nothing more.

When you contact us or place an order, we collect:

This information is used only to fulfill your order and respond to your inquiries. It is never shared with third parties for commercial purposes. We retain it only as long as needed for order fulfillment and to comply with applicable law.

06 — Security

How we protect your data during transfer.

In the unlikely event of a security incident that affects your data, we will notify you promptly in accordance with applicable law.

07 — Third-Party Services

The tools we use to run the service.

Google Data Portability API

Used to access and export Google Photos libraries on your behalf. Your authorization flows through Google's own OAuth system. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

Website Hosting

This site is hosted on Netlify. Standard server logs may be collected as part of normal hosting operations. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any third-party advertising or behavioral tracking on this website.

We do not use tracking pixels, retargeting scripts, or ad networks anywhere on this site or in our order process.

08 — Your Rights

You are in control. At every step.

To exercise any of these rights, contact hello@unchainedhome.com. We respond within one business day.

09 — Children's Privacy

We do not collect data from children under 13.

Unchained Home is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10 — Changes to This Policy

If anything changes, we'll tell you.

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and notify active customers by email. We will never change this policy in a way that retroactively permits us to sell, share, or use your photos or data in ways not described here without your explicit consent.

11 — Contact
